Baker and Richards Win Major Awards; Five Mounties Named to All-Conference Teams

Cresson, PaNovember 18, 2025  - On Tuesday morning, the Allegheny Mountain Collegaite Conference (AMCC) released the women's volleyball award winners and All-Conference teams.

Five Mounties were honored, along with Head Coach Brianna Baker claiming AMCC Coach of the Year.

Coach of the Year:

Mounties Head Coach Brianna Baker was voted by the other conference coaches as the AMCC Coach of the Year. It is the third time Baker has won the award (2018, 2022, 2025). Baker and the Mounties had a historic season, claiming the AMCC regular season title and getting to the Championship game for the first time in program history. On top of that, volleyball's 20-8 record was the best yet, breaking the single-season wins record which was previously 18-10 back in 2019.

Player of the Year

Molly Richards (Naples, Fla., Naples) capped off her remarkable volleyball career in unforgettable fashion, earning her second AMCC Player of the Year award after first claiming the honor as a sophomore. Her journey has been nothing short of elite; she broke onto the scene as the 2022 AMCC Newcomer of the Year and a third-team all-conference pick, rose to Player of the Year in year two, and followed it up with a first-team all-conference season last fall. Richards is one of the greatest Mounties ever, finishing second all-time in career kills, trailing only her own head coach, Brianna Baker. Across eight conference matches, Richards led the league with 126 kills and 4.34 kills per set while hitting .196 on 336 attempts. She also ranked sixth in total digs (136) and fifth in digs per set (4.69), showcasing her versatility on both sides of the ball. In addition, Richards tallied 13 service aces and 141.5 total points, finishing second in the conference in points per set (4.9). A six-time AMCC Offensive Player of the Week, Richards consistently set the tone for the Mountie offense and was a key factor in the team's success this season. With her volleyball career being complete, she now turns the page to basketball season, where she'll play a major role for the Mount Aloysius women's basketball team in her final year wearing the Mountie navy blue and white.

First Team:

Madison Barr (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler) continued her rise as one of the AMCC's premier defensive talents, earning a well-deserved spot on the first team after being a second-team selection as a sophomore. She anchored the Mounties' back row with poise and toughness, finishing the season fourth in the conference with 454 digs and third in digs per set at 4.73. Barr was the definition of steady; night after night she handled the top outside hitters in the conference with confidence, rarely rattled and always in the right place at the right time. Barr's presence transformed the Mountie defense, giving them a backbone every time a rally got chaotic and solidifying her status as one of the league's most trusted liberos.

Mackenzie Barr (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler) put together yet another solid season that firmly established her as one of the AMCC's most imposing front-row threats, earning her a spot on the first team alongside her sister, Madison after doing so last year as well. One of the "top dogs" for the Mounties' offense, Barr finished fourth in the conference in hitting percentage at .266 and eighth in total kills with 273, showcasing both efficiency and power at the net. Her presence wasn't just felt offensively, she made life difficult for opposing hitters as well, ranking 10th in the AMCC in blocks and consistently disrupting attacks with her timing and length. Whether she was putting balls away or shutting down lanes at the net, Barr brought energy and reliability that helped drive Mount Aloysius to its most successful season in program history. Like Richards, Barr is a dual-sport athlete and will now make the transition to the Mounties' women's basketball team, where she is poised to be a key contributor this season with her size and athleticism, building on her role as an important bench piece last year in which she averaged 6.4 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

Third Team:

Reghyn Wilson (Harrisburg, Pa., Bishop McDevitt) was a stabilizing force for the Mount Aloysius offense, directing the attack with confidence and maturity all season long. She finished fifth in the AMCC in both total assists (517) and assists per set (5.50), consistently delivering accurate, timely sets that allowed the Mounties' hitters like Richards and Barr to thrive. Her presence at the net brought leadership and her court awareness made the offense flow smoothly even in high-pressure stretches. Wilson's standout moment came in the AMCC semifinals against Hilbert, where she surpassed the 1,000 career assist milestone while posting a new career high of 40 assists in the win. It was a performance that perfectly captured her impact this season; steady, smart, and essential to the Mounties' historic season.

Poliana Lazarini (Marialva, Brazil / Garrido) finishes her first season as a Mountie after transferring from Wenatchee Valley College which is located in Wenatchee, WA. Lazarini made an immediate impact and quickly became one of the team's most reliable all-around contributors. The junior proved to be a steady and versatile presence, finishing 14th in the AMCC in total kills (217) and 12th in kills per set (2.28), giving the Mounties a consistent scoring option on the outside. But her game stretched far beyond attacking. Lazarini also showcased her two-way ability from the service line, racking up 41 aces, which was 12th in the conference. Her blend of offense, defense, and pressure-serving made her a key piece of the Mounties' historic season and a player who elevated the team's level every time she stepped on the court.

The Mounties' historic season has set a new standard for the program and positions them for continued success in the years ahead. With the majority of the roster returning, the team's core of talented juniors and underclassmen provides a strong foundation to build on. Only two seniors, Molly Richards and Kaylee Smith (Altoona, Pa., Altoona), will be departing, leaving plenty of experience, leadership, and proven performers to carry the momentum forward.
