Mounties with Five in Double Figures in Road Battle at Geneva

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. — Mount Aloysius put together its strongest offensive outing of the young season, but a late push wasn't enough as the Mounties fell 85–78 on the road Tuesday night at Metheny Fieldhouse.

Five Mounties scored in double figures as the offense found its rhythm, highlighted by a 49-point second half in which Mount Aloysius shot 56 percent from the field. Donovan Bass-Briscoe (Alexandria, Va., Hayfield) powered the surge off the bench with 20 points, six rebounds, and four steals, helping the Mounties chip away at an early deficit.

Troy Tinch (Baltimore, Md., Calvert Hall) added 17 points and five rebounds, Ignacio Nascimento-Zschaeck (Barcelona, Spain, Springfield Commonwealth Academy (Mass.)) knocked down three threes on his way to 14 points, and Senique Jenkins (Columbus, Ohio, Imani Christian ) nearly posted a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds. Brandon Waters (Clear Brook, Va., James Wood) supplied another spark with 14 points, including four makes from beyond the arc.

Despite the late push, Geneva maintained its edge behind consistent shooting. Mount Aloysius outscored the hosts after halftime and stacked up 34 bench points while dominating inside with a 46–42 advantage in the paint, but the early gap was too much to overcome.

Mount Aloysius (0–3) continues to trend upward offensively, finishing at 46.3 percent from the field and tallying 19 second-chance points — their highest output this season.
