CRESSON, Pa. — Mount Aloysius rode a dominant performance from Molly Kosmack (Homer City, Pa., Homer-Center), but a slow shooting afternoon proved too much to overcome in a 66–55 loss on Saturday at the Athletic Convocation & Wellness Center.
Kosmack powered the Mounties (0–4) with 22 points and a commanding 21 rebounds, logging a full 40 minutes and keeping Mount Aloysius within reach throughout. Annalyn Isaacs (Harmony, Pa., Mars) added 11 points, and Masie Reed (Shamokin, Pa., Our Lady of Lourdes) posted seven points with three assists as the Mounties battled back from multiple double-digit deficits.
Mount Aloysius trailed 23–15 after the first quarter but continued to chip away behind its inside presence and offensive rebounding. The Mounties owned a 44–31 rebounding advantage and turned that into 23 second-chance points, repeatedly extending possessions to stay in contention.
A fourth-quarter push — including three Mountie 3-pointers — cut the margin to single digits, but Mount Aloysius couldn't fully erase the deficit as the visitors held on late at the foul line.
The Mounties shot 29 percent from the field but went 10 of 12 at the free-throw line, while holding the opposition to 36.8 percent shooting. Mount Aloysius forced 17 turnovers and turned them into 14 points.
The Mounties return to action on Dec. 1 with a home matchup against Wilson College.
