Mounties Fall in Season Opener at Juniata, 80–63

HUNTINGDON, Pa. (Nov. 7, 2025) — The Mounties opened their 2025–26 season on the road Friday night, falling 80–63 to Juniata inside Memorial Gymnasium.

The Mounties hung close early before Juniata used a first-half surge to take a 41–28 lead into halftime. Mount Aloysius battled evenly in the second half, but the hosts maintained control behind strong shooting and a steady advantage on the glass.

Ignacio Nascimento-Zschaeck (Barcelona, Spain, Springfield Commonwealth Academy (Mass.)) led the Mounties with 17 points on 5-of-8 shooting, including three 3-pointers. Troy Tinch (Baltimore, Md., Calvert Hall) added 12 points and four rebounds, while Donovan Bass-Briscoe (Alexandria, Va., Hayfield) came off the bench to contribute 11 points.

Mount Aloysius shot 40.4 percent from the field and 40 percent from three-point range but was out rebounded 38–32 and committed 16 turnovers that led to 21 points for Juniata. The Mounties were also outscored 38–24 in the paint and 18–4 on second-chance opportunities.

The Mounties (0–1) will look to bounce back on Tuesday, November 11th, when it travels to Gettysburg for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
