Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Mount Aloysius men's soccer team came up just short in its quest for an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) title on Saturday afternoon, falling 1-0 to La Roche in the conference championship at the Baierl Athletic Complex.
In a tightly contested final, the Mounties and Redhawks each finished with nine total shots, but La Roche broke through just before halftime. The hosts converted in the 45th minute, finding the back of the net off a cross from the right side to take a 1-0 lead into the break.
Mount Aloysius responded with energy in the second half, creating several dangerous chances and outshooting La Roche 8-2 over the final 45 minutes. The Mounties also earned four second-half corner kicks but were unable to find the equalizer, as the Redhawks' defense held firm to secure the win.
Despite the result, Mount Aloysius finishes the season with an 11-6-3 overall record and a 4-1-3 mark in AMCC play. The Mounties had three players named to the AMCC All-Tournament Team: Braden Callahan (Duncansville, Pa., Hollidaysburg), Manuel Prats (Madrid, Spain, International School of Madrid), and Hippolyte Delhaes (Bayonne, France, Lycee Saint-Louis VIlla Pia), each recognized for their standout performances throughout the postseason.
The 2025 Mounties' season featured consistent performances on both sides of the ball and a return to the conference's championship stage, marking another year of progress for the program.
