Cresson, Pa. – In a thrilling regular season finale, the Mount Aloysius women's volleyball team went toe-to-toe with Penn State Behrend on Saturday afternoon, ultimately falling in a hard-fought five-set match (25-21, 21-25, 11-25, 25-21, 12-15) inside the Athletic Convocation & Wellness Center.
With the result, the Mounties close the regular season at 19-7 overall and 7-1 in AMCC play, earning the top seed in the upcoming AMCC Tournament, which they will host next Saturday and Sunday.
The Mounties opened the afternoon strong, taking the first set 25-21 behind efficient attacking and steady defensive play. Penn State Behrend responded with back-to-back set wins, using a balanced offense to gain a 2-1 match advantage. Mount Aloysius answered in the fourth, hitting .162 in the frame and forcing a decisive fifth set. Despite a late push, the visitors edged the Mounties in the final frame, 15-12.
Mount Aloysius totaled 48 kills, 43 assists, and 72 digs in the contest. Mackenzie Barr (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler) led the Mounties with 18 kills, followed closely by Molly Richards (Naples, Fla., Naples) with 17. Kiersten Cummings (Las Vegas, Nev, Nevada State) guided the offense with 22 assists, while Reghyn Wilson (Harrisburg, Pa., Bishop McDevitt) added 17. Richards anchored the defense with 26 digs, and Madison Barr (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler) chipped in 19. At the service line, Madison Barr paced the Mounties with four aces, while Cummings added three.

The Mounties will now turn their attention to the postseason as they prepare to host the AMCC Championships next weekend at the Athletic Convocation & Wellness Center. Tournament play begins Saturday, November 15, with the championship match set for Sunday, November 16.
