CRESSON, PA – The Mount Aloysius Mounties (2-6) faced off against the Saint Vincent Bearcats (4-3) at home on Tuesday evening. Despite strong efforts, the Mounties were unable to get past the Bearcats, falling in three sets: 25-13, 25-21, and 25-23.
The first set saw the Bearcats jump to an early lead, with the Mounties struggling to find their rhythm. The Mounties battled back in the second and third sets, but Saint Vincent's strong defense and timely attacks kept them ahead.
Despite the loss standout performances came from several Mounties,
Zach Rosenwald (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler) leading the charge. He recorded a team-high 12 kills and added 2 blocks to his stat line. Defensively,
Corey Obeldobel (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell) shined with 9 digs, helping keep the team in the game. Setter
Evan Schmidt (Loganville, Pa. , Dallastown Area) was a key playmaker, registering 24 assists.
The Mounties will hit the road for their next game against Penn State Behrend in Erie, PA. The match is set to begin at 1:00 PM on February 16
th.
