Mounties Fall to Bobcats in Tough Loss

Box Score GREENSBURG, PA – The Mount Aloysius Mounties (7-17, 5-10 AMCC) traveled to face conference opponent Pitt-Greensburg Bobcats (17-7, 11-4 AMCC). With only two games left in the season, both teams entered this game seeking a win to boost their postseason hopes.

The Mounties, needing a victory to keep their playoff chances alive, gave everything they had on the floor. Will Hagwood (Willowick, Ohio, South) led the team with 28 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. De'Von Haggans (Harrisburg, PA, Central Dauphin) recorded a double-double, posting 18 points and 12 rebounds. Teammates Julius Cummings (Cleveland, Ohio, Villa Angela Saint Joseph) and Troy Tinch (Baltimore, Md., Calvert Hall) also contributed, scoring 11 points and 10 points, respectively.

Despite these strong performances, the Bobcats secured the win in a tightly contested game that featured 10 lead changes. Although the Bobcats attempted fewer shots, they were highly efficient shooting 54.7%, compared to the Mounties' 45.5%.

This loss eliminated the Mounties from postseason contention.

The Mounties will play their final game of the season this Saturday, February 22nd, during Senior Day, where they will honor five seniors in their last game. They will face the visiting Hilbert Hawks (13-11, 6-9 AMCC), with the game set to tip off at 1:00 PM.
