CRESSON, Pa. -- On Tuesday, D3hoops.com released their annual All-Region awards. Mount Aloysius'
Molly Kosmack (Homer City, Pa. / Homer-Center) was named Third Team All-Region 7, as part of the release. She is the first Mountie to be named All-Region in program history.
Kosmack had a stellar sophomore season, leading to the recognition. She led the Mounties in scoring, with 15.9 Points per Game, while also leading the AMCC with 11.4 Rebounds per Game and a 59.0% Field Goal Percentage. Nationally, she ranked eighth in Field Goal Percentage and 11th in Double Doubles, with 17 on the year. Kosmack earned All-AMCC First Team recognition for the second time, this season, while also being tabbed the AMCC's Co-Defensive Player of the Year, also for the second time.
In 2023-24, Kosmack was selected as the D3hoops.com Region 7 Co-Rookie of the Year, as this marks her second time receiving recognition in the outlet's postseason awards. She was joined on the All-Region teams by Penn State Behrend's Rachel Majewski, who was named Second Team. They are the only student-athletes from the AMCC to make the list.
This is the 24th year D3hoops.com has named an All-Region team and this year's All-America team will be the 28th annual All-America selections. The D3hoops.com All-American teams, along with those of the respective coaches' associations, are the only ones recognized in the NCAA record book. Players chosen to the D3hoops.com All-Region team are eligible for All-America selection.
Division III basketball is organized into 10 regions. A region with 40 teams or more has three All-Region teams honored, while a region with fewer than 40 teams has a first and second team.
