Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Mounties Win Three in a Row

Frederick, Md – The Mounties (6-13, 1-1 AMCC) hit the road this weekend for a doubleheader against King's College (12-12, 1-4 MAC) and a familiar opponent, Hood College (4-19, 0-4 MAC), whom they had previously defeated 3-0 earlier in the season. Looking to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the year, the Mounties delivered strong performances in both matches.

Game 1 vs. King's College
The Mounties started slow, dropping the first set 25-21. However, momentum shifted in their favor for the rest of the match as they rallied to win the next three sets (25-20, 25-19, 25-14), securing a 3-1 victory over King's College.

Standout performances included Matthew Franz (Johnstown, Ohio, Bishop Hartley), who led the team with 22 kills. Tayshaun Johnson (Uniondale, N.Y., Uniondale) dominated at the net with seven blocks, while Setter Evan Schmidt (Loganville, Pa. , Dallastown Area) orchestrated the offense with 42 assists. Corey Obeldobel (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell) contributed defensively with eight digs.

Game 2 vs. Hood College
Following their win, the Mounties faced off against Hood College for the second time this season. Having swept the Blazers earlier in the year, they aimed to replicate that success. The Mounties would go on to do just that, winning in three highly competitive sets (33-31, 25-16, 25-23).

Key contributions came from Andrew Wlodarczyk (East Aurora, N.Y., East Aurora), who tallied 12 kills, Evan Schmidt (Loganville, Pa. , Dallastown Area) with 30 assists, and Corey Obeldobel (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell), once again leading the defense with eight digs.

Up Next for the Mounties...
The Mounties will be back on the road on March 28th, traveling to Hamburg, NY, to take on conference opponent Hilbert College.
