CRESSON, Pa. – The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) has named Mount Aloysius College the winner of the 12th annual "Institutional Peak Performer Award." The AMCC presents this award to the college with the highest percentage of student-athletes on the Academic All-Conference Team. Mount Aloysius has won the award five times - the most in conference history - and also broke conference history this year with more than 66% of Mountie student-athletes achieving the honor of "Academic All-Conference."

"We all love when our Mounties win on the field or court, but our biggest goal is success in the classroom — and ultimately, success in careers," said Mount Aloysius College President John McKeegan. "I am extremely proud of our student-athletes for this accomplishment, and equally proud of our coaches, faculty, and staff who offer unmatched support to our students on and off the field."

AMCC student-athletes earn the distinction of Academic All-Conference if they earned a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher, as of the fall semester. In addition to recognition on the Academic All-Conference team, 96 Mountie student-athletes were named Peak Performers. To be named a Peak Performer, a student-athlete must earn a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. A special subset of the Peak Performers were also selected for induction to Chi Alpha Sigma, the National Collegiate Student-Athlete Honor Society. Chi Alpha Sigma recognizes academic performance, leadership, and character for selected juniors and seniors. 45 Mounties were selected to join Chi Alpha Sigma.

As part of NCAA D3 Week, the AMCC annually recognizes both Team Peak Performance Award winners and the Institutional Peak Performance Award. On Wednesday, the Baseball, Men's Soccer, and Women's Lacrosse programs were all recognized as the AMCC Team Peak Performers, having the highest cumulative GPA in their respective sports. Baseball earned their fourth consecutive award, with a GPA of 3.31. Men's Soccer carried a 3.50 GPA and won their fifth award in the last six years. Women's Lacrosse won the program's first award since 2020, with a 3.43 GPA.

The AMCC is an intercollegiate athletic conference affiliated with the NCAA's Division III. Member institutions are located in New York and Pennsylvania. In addition to Mount Aloysius College, affiliated schools include: Alfred State College, Alfred, N.Y.; Carlow University, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Hilbert College, Hamburg, N.Y.; La Roche College, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Penn State Altoona, Altoona, Pa.; Penn State Behrend, Erie, Pa.; University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, Bradford, Pa. and the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, Greensburg, Pa.
