Cresson, PA - On Friday afternoon, Men's Soccer hosted the Concordia University Falcons to start the 2025 season for Mountie Athletics. The Mounties defeated the Falcons by the score of 4-1.

Mount Aloysius wasted no time asserting control, jumping out to a 2-0 lead less than 10 minutes into the match. The early offensive surge put pressure on Concordia right out the gate, though the Falcons responded just before halftime with a crucial goal to cut the deficit to 2-1 and take back some momentum right before halftime.

Tanner Polcyn (Watsontown, Pa., Warrior Run) delivered the first goal of 2025 for the Mounties just three minutes into the contest. 

Joel Martinez (Madrid, Spain, Putnam Science Academy) scored one of his two goals just four minutes after Polcyn's.

However, the Mounties began the second half in a similar way they started the first half; regaining momentum with two more goals early on to seal the victory. One of those second-half strikes came from Martinez, who notched his second goal of the contest to help secure the 4-1 win. Gonzalo Terricabris (Catalonia, Spain, Garbi Pere Verges) came off the bench and found the back of the net as well. 

Head Coach Matt Davis, the program's all-time wins leader, earned his first win since returning to the school this past May.

Men's Soccer will hit the road for the first time this fall, as they will travel to Middletown, PA to take on Penn State Harrisburg Sunday evening. The game is slated for a 6 PM start.
