Mounties Victorious on the Road

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. (Sept. 10) – The Mount Aloysius men's soccer team battled back from a halftime deficit to defeat Geneva 2-1 on Wednesday night in a physical non-conference match that saw eight yellow cards and one red card.

The Golden Tornadoes (0-4) struck first in the opening half and carried a 1-0 advantage into the break. Mount Aloysius (4-1) responded after halftime when Braden Callahan (Duncansville, Pa., Hollidaysburg) netted the equalizer in the 56th minute, finishing a pass from Gonzalo Terricabris (Catalonia, Spain, Garbi Pere Verges) to even the score.

With both sides pressing late, the Mounties capitalized in the 85th minute. Terricabris broke through with the game-winning goal off a setup from Manuel Prats (Madrid, Spain, International School of Madrid), sealing the comeback win.

The Mounties now sit at 4-1 heading back home for their contest this coming weekend.
