Westminster, MD - Women's Volleyball traveled to Maryland this weekend for a Quad Match that consisted of Mount Aloysius, Penn College, North Carolina Wesleyan and host-school, McDaniel College. In game one of three of the Quad Match, the Mounties rolled to a straight-set victory over Penn College on Friday evening, winning 25-10, 25-12, 25-11 at the Gill Center.
The Mounties were dominant on both sides of the net, finishing with 41 kills and a .400 hitting percentage while holding the Wildcats to just 12 kills and a .051 mark.
Molly Richards (Naples, Fla., Naples) powered the offense with a match-high 18 kills to go along with 9 digs, while Mackenzie Barr (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler) chipped in 13 kills of her own.
Poliana Lazarini (Marialva, Brazil / Garrido) was a force from the service line, delivering 8 of the Mounties' 14 aces while also adding 8 digs and 4 kills. Setter Reghyn Wilson (Harrisburg, Pa., Bishop McDevitt) kept the attack flowing smoothly with 22 assists.
Defensively, the Mounties controlled the back row with 36 digs, led by Richards and Lazarini. At the net, the Mounties kept the Wildcats in check, limiting them to just four kills in the final set.
With the sweep, Mount Aloysius (5-3) improves their win streak to four.
