Box Score Huntingdon, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's soccer team suffered its first setback of the season, falling 3-1 to Juniata College on Friday evening.
The Mounties struck first in the 21st minute when Braden Callahan (Duncansville, Pa., Hollidaysburg) found the back of the net, assisted by Gonzalo Terricabris (Catalonia, Spain, Garbi Pere Verges). With the assist, Terricabris has now recorded a goal or assist in each of the Mounties' first three contests.
Mount Aloysius held its 1-0 advantage deep into the second half before the Eagles pulled even in the 76th minute on an own goal. Riding the momentum, Juniata completed the comeback just minutes later when Beckett Young scored past goalkeeper Sam Denchfield to make it 2-1. The Eagles added to their lead in the 81st minute on a penalty kick, giving them the 3-1 lead. The Mounties were unable to find the back of the net in the final 10 minutes.
With the loss, the Mounties fall to 2-1 on the year. They will waste no time getting back on the pitch, aiming to bounce back from their first loss of the season. They host SUNY Canton tomorrow at Kelly Field, with kickoff set for 2:00 PM.
