Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Mounties Strong Home Performance Holds the Kangaroos Scoreless

CRESSON, Pa. — The Mount Aloysius men's soccer team delivered a commanding 4-0 victory over SUNY Canton on Saturday afternoon at Kelly Field, improving their record to 3-1 on the season. The Mounties (3-1, 0-0 AMCC) jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, shutting out the visiting Kangaroos (1-3, 0-0 SUNYAC) with a complete performance on both sides of the ball.

The Mounties struck first in the 15th minute when Gonzalo Terricabris (Catalonia, Spain, Garbi Pere Verges) found the back of the net off a well-placed assist from Manuel Prats (Madrid, Spain, International School of Madrid). The early pressure continued to mount for SUNY Canton, and just minutes later, Mount Aloysius doubled their lead. Braden Callahan (Duncansville, Pa., Hollidaysburg) capitalized on a deflection in front of the goal, finishing a chance that stemmed from a dangerous shot by Hippolyte Delhaes (Bayonne, France, Lycee Saint-Louis VIlla Pia), who was credited with the assist.

Holding a 2-0 advantage at the break, the second half saw the game turn more physical, with intensity rising from both sides. The Mounties' defense stood tall, shutting down multiple scoring chances from the Kangaroos and maintaining their clean sheet.

Levi Bryne (Storvreta, Sweden, Celsiusskolan) extended the lead in the 64th minute, slotting home a goal with an assist from Tanner Polcyn (Watsontown, Pa., Warrior Run). Leo Lindberg (Östersund, Sweden, Odensalaskolan) then sealed the victory in the 85th minute with a late goal, putting the game out of reach at 4-0.
