WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — The Mount Aloysius women's soccer team (0-1-2, 0-0 AMCC) dropped a tough 7-1 loss to the undefeated Lycoming Warriors (3-0, 0-0 LANDMARK) on Saturday afternoon at UPMC Field.
The Mounties were looking for their first win of the season, but they found themselves in a challenging position, trailing 4-0 at halftime. Despite their best efforts, the Mounties couldn't find their rhythm in the first half as the Warriors controlled much of the play.
Lycoming added to their lead early in the second half, with goals in the 49th and 55th minute extending the deficit to 6-0. However, the Mounties showed resilience and finally got on the scoreboard in the 75th minute. Amanda Price (Columbia, Pa., Hempfield) netted the team's lone goal after a well-timed assist from Sara Borlie (Kennett Square, Pa., Unionville), cutting the score to 6-1.
The Warriors would go on to add one more goal late in the match, sealing the 7-1 victory.
