Mounties Sweep Tri-Match With RIT and Waynesburg

Cresson, PA - On Saturday afternoon, Women's Volleyball hosted a tri-match with the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets and the RIT Tigers. The Mounties defeated both teams without losing a set.

Game One: W (25-16), (25-18), (25-8)
The Mounties opened the day by controlling play against RIT, using a balanced attack and strong defensive presence to earn a straight-set victory. Molly Richards (Naples, Fla., Naples) led the way with 15 kills. Mackenzie Barr (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler) recorded 9 kills and Poliana Lazarini (Marialva, Brazil / Garrido) was right behind Barr with 8.

Overall, the Mounties held the edge in kills (43-23), digs (51-33), and aces (8-3).

Game Two: (25-7), (25-20), (25-10)
Richards, Barr, and Lazarini continued where they left off in game one. Richards again had 15 kills, Barr had 10, and Lazarini had 5 kills, 10 digs, and five aces.

Just like game one, setting duties were split efficiently between Reghyn Wilson (Harrisburg, Pa., Bishop McDevitt) who contributed 17 assists and Kiersten Cummings (Las Vegas, Nev, Nevada State) who had 14. The Mounties also had 15 aces compared to Waynesburg's zero.

Defensively, the Mounties held a 43-31 advantage in digs and surrendered just 17 kills across the three sets. Women's Volleyball improves to 3-3 on the season.
