GREENSBURG, Pa. — Mount Aloysius never let the outcome come into question, jumping out to an early lead and cruising to a 70-42 AMCC victory Wednesday night at Chambers Hall.

The Mounties scored the first 10 points of the game and held the hosts to just five points in the opening quarter, setting the tone for a wire-to-wire win. Mount Aloysius led 23-5 after one and took a 40-23 advantage into halftime.

Molly Richards (Naples, Fla., Naples) led the Mounties with 14 points, knocking down four 3-pointers, while Molly Kosmack (Homer City, Pa., Homer-Center) added 12 points and eight rebounds.Annalyn Isaacs (Harmony, Pa., Mars) finished with 10 points, and Brionna Brown (Cranberry Township, Pa., Seneca Valley) chipped in 11 off the bench as Mount Aloysius balanced its scoring throughout the lineup.

Mount Aloysius shot 45.2% from the field and forced 16 turnovers, converting those miscues into 26 points. The Mounties also controlled the glass, outrebounding their opponent 43-32, and held a 15-7 edge in second-chance points.

Any momentum from the hosts in the second quarter was quickly erased after halftime, as Mount Aloysius opened the third with a defensive surge and extended its lead to 53-34 heading into the final period. The Mounties closed strong, outscoring Pitt.-Greensburg 17-8 in the fourth.

Mount Aloysius improved to 8-11 overall and 6-4 in AMCC play with the victory.
