CRESSON, PA -- The Mounties faced a tough test on Saturday afternoon, falling 76–32 to McDaniel at the Athletic Convocation & Wellness Center.
McDaniel set the tone early, building a sizable lead in the opening half as Mount Aloysius struggled to find an offensive rhythm. The Mounties continued to battle throughout the game and showed improvement in the fourth quarter, scoring 14 points while playing with increased energy on both ends of the floor.
Junior forward Molly Kosmack (Homer City, Pa., Homer-Center) led Mount Aloysius with five points and eight rebounds. Annalyn Isaacs (Harmony, Pa., Mars) and Ashlie Weaver (Schellsburg, Pa., Chestnut Ridge) each added four points, while the Mounties forced McDaniel into several contested possessions late.
Prior to the game, Mount Aloysius honored Kosmack for surpassing the 1,000-career-point milestone, an achievement she reached a few weeks before Christmas break and a significant accomplishment in her collegiate career.
The Mounties will look to regroup and bounce back on Monday when they return home to face Penn State Harrisburg. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
