CRESSON, Pa. — Mount Aloysius showed resilience and depth throughout the night, but Pitt.-Bradford's hot shooting proved too much to overcome in a 132–86 loss Wednesday evening in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference men's basketball game at the Athletic Convocation & Wellness Center.
The Mounties (1-10, 0-3 AMCC) stayed competitive early, trailing 62–40 at halftime, and continued to attack offensively in the second half. Mount Aloysius finished with 39 bench points and 52 trips to the free-throw line, consistently pressuring the defense and creating scoring opportunities.
Donovan Bass-Briscoe (Alexandria, Va., Hayfield) led the Mounties with 14 points, getting to the line frequently, while Jordon Nelson (Charlotte, N.C., Hickory Grove) added 12 points and Troy Tinch (Baltimore, Md., Calvert Hall) finished with 10. Mount Aloysius placed four players in double figures and received scoring contributions from 12 different players.
Despite the final margin, the Mounties showed energy in transition with 19 fast-break points and won second-chance opportunities, finishing with 18 points off offensive rebounds. Mount Aloysius also battled inside, recording 25 total rebounds and forcing turnovers that led to 15 points.
The Mounties will look to build on their offensive balance and effort as they continue AMCC play later this week.
