Mount Aloysius Surges Past Carlow in Pink Out

CRESSON, Pa -- The Mount Aloysius College women's basketball team used a dominant second half to roll past conference opponent Carlow, 88-51, on Wednesday night at the Athletic Convocation & Wellness Center.

The Mounties (10-14, 8-7 AMCC) outscored the visitors 43-19 after halftime and opened the third quarter with a decisive 20-2 run to seize complete control. Mount Aloysius shot a blistering 70.6% (12-for-17) from the field in the third, turning a 45-32 halftime advantage into a runaway.

Mount Aloysius finished the night shooting 50% (32-for-64) from the floor and 54.5% (12-for-22) from 3-point range while holding the opposition to just 24.2% shooting overall and 6.3% in the third quarter. The Mounties also forced 16 turnovers and converted them into 20 points.

Annalyn Isaacs (Harmony, Pa., Mars) led a balanced offensive effort with 13 points on a perfect 5-for-5 shooting night, including 3-for-3 from beyond the arc. Molly Richards (Naples, Fla., Naples) added 12 points off the bench, knocking down all four of her 3-point attempts, while Brionna Brown (Cranberry Township, Pa., Seneca Valley) chipped in 11 points and two steals.

Mackenzie Barr (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler) contributed 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds, and Molly Kosmack (Homer City, Pa., Homer-Center) filled the stat sheet with nine points, eight rebounds, four assists and five blocked shots. Ashlie Weaver (Schellsburg, Pa., Chestnut Ridge) sparked the second unit with nine points and five assists as the Mounties' bench accounted for 42 points.

Mount Aloysius led by as many as 39 in the second half and never allowed the visitors to recover after the opening surge of the third quarter.

The Mounties will return to action on Saturday as they host Penn State Behrend for Senior Day which also marks the final game of the regular season.
