Martino earned the honor after delivering a dominant outing in his first collegiate start on the mound. The freshman tossed six no-hit innings, allowing just one run while striking out six and walking four, helping lift the Mounties to a 6-4 victory and secure the series sweep. Despite working around several baserunners, Martino kept Wilmington hitless throughout his six frames and consistently escaped trouble to earn his first career win.

The performance highlights a versatile start to Martino's freshman campaign. Through the team's first eight games, he has started seven contests, primarily serving as the Mounties' left fielder while also contributing on the mound. Six of his starts have come in the outfield, showcasing his ability to impact the game in multiple ways.

At the plate, Martino has also provided production early in the season. The freshman is 5-for-19 (.263) with three doubles and five RBIs, adding offensive support to his strong pitching efforts.

The Mounties are back in action tomorrow versus Saint Vincent College (2-6), where they will play their first two true home games. The doubleheader was originally scheduled for Wednesday, but it was moved up 24 hours due to expecting weather. First pitch tomorrow will be at 1 pm and game two will begin shortly after.
