Mount Aloysius Rallies Late to Take Down La Roche, 6-3

CRESSON, Pa. — The Mount Aloysius Mounties erupted for a dominant fourth-quarter performance to secure a 6-3 comeback victory over La Roche in AMCC women's lacrosse action.

After a slow start, the Mounties found their rhythm early in the first quarter as Cassidy Cook (Glen Burnie, Md., North County) opened the scoring off an assist from Brenna Dobson (Lewistown, Pa., Mifflin County). Just minutes later, Jordan Turner (Grampian, Pa., Curwensville) added to the lead with an unassisted goal to give Mount Aloysius a 2-0 advantage.

La Roche responded by scoring three unanswered goals across the second, third, and early fourth quarters to take a 3-2 lead, putting the Mounties in a late-game deficit.

That's when Mount Aloysius flipped the script.

With just under six minutes remaining, Cook delivered a clutch unassisted goal to even the score at 3-3, igniting a decisive run. Moments later, Sara Borlie (Kennett Square, Pa., Unionville) finished a setup from Tierney Patterson (Liberty, Pa., North Penn Liberty) to give the Mounties the lead for good.

Cook continued her standout performance, completing a hat trick with another goal to extend the advantage. Chelsea Stout (Grand Blanc, Mich., Grand Blanc) sealed the victory with a late score in the final minute, capping off a four-goal fourth quarter for the Mounties.

Mount Aloysius showcased resilience down the stretch, shutting out La Roche in the final period while dominating on both ends of the field.

Cook led the way with three goals, while Borlie and Stout each added key scores in the closing minutes to secure the win.
