Mount Aloysius Concludes Season with Losses to Buffalo State, Juniata

Game 1: Buffalo State 3, Mount Aloysius 1

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Mount Aloysius Mounties opened Saturday's doubleheader with a competitive 3-1 loss to Buffalo State in men's volleyball action.

Mount Aloysius (3-24, 3-9 AMCC) captured the opening set 25-13 but could not maintain momentum, dropping the next three sets 15-25, 18-25, and 11-25. Buffalo State (26-4, 13-0 AMCC) rebounded behind efficient attacking and consistent serving to take control after the first set.

Bryson Brooks (Martinsburg, Pa., Central) and Brady Diegelman (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler Area) led the Mounties offensively with 10 kills each, while Zach Rosenwald (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler) added five kills and three aces. Connor O'Mealia (Rochester, N.Y., Churchville) recorded a team-high 16 assists and five digs, helping the Mounties stay competitive early. Jason Freed (East Aurora, N.Y., East Aurora) contributed two blocks, bolstering Mount Aloysius' defense at the net.

Despite flashes of strong play, Mount Aloysius struggled with errors in the middle sets and could not match Buffalo State's offensive efficiency. The Mounties kept the third set close but ultimately fell short, setting the stage for the afternoon's second match.

Game 2: Juniata 3, Mount Aloysius 0

Mount Aloysius concluded its 2026 season with a 3-0 loss to Juniata in the second match of the Saturday doubleheader.

The Mounties (3-26, 3-10 AMCC) dropped the match by set scores of 25-8, 25-8, and 25-13. Juniata (26-2, 6-1 CVC) dominated offensively, controlling the pace and limiting Mount Aloysius' opportunities.

Zach Rosenwald and Bryson Brooks led Mount Aloysius with five kills each, while Connor O'Mealia added nine assists and four digs. Jason Freed and Rosenwald contributed three digs apiece as the Mounties finished with 15 digs as a team.

Mount Aloysius struggled to find rhythm against a strong Juniata squad, with the opponent pulling away in each set. The match marked the conclusion of the Mounties' 2026 campaign, as the team looks toward building for next season.
