Alexander, Dickson, Misiura, Maseto Earn AMCC Recognition

Cresson, PA - Four members of the Mount Aloysius baseball team earned Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) postseason honors following standout performances during the 2026 campaign, led by first-team selection Tyler Alexander.

A native of nearby Portage, Alexander emerged as one of the top players in the conference this season after stepping into the role as the Mounties' everyday left fielder. After transferring back home from Delgado Community College prior to last season, Alexander saw limited action offensively in 2025, recording just six at-bats while primarily serving as a pitcher.

This spring told a much different story.

Alexander became one of the most dangerous hitters in the AMCC, totaling 100 bases and 35 RBIs while batting .421, the third-highest average in the conference. His four triples were tied for the most in the AMCC, while his eight home runs ranked tied for third. He also finished fourth in the conference in hits with 56, trailing only teammate Anthony Maseto among Mounties hitters.

One of Alexander's top performances came on March 25 against Franciscan, when he went 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double, and three RBIs.

Sophomore shortstop Trent Dickson earned Second Team All-AMCC honors after successfully transitioning from second base to shortstop this season following the graduation of former Mountie Ryan Bushey. Despite battling through an injury late in the year, Dickson became a steady presence both offensively and defensively for Mount Aloysius.

After a slow start offensively, Dickson found his rhythm as the season progressed and finished with a .319 batting average, totaling 44 hits in 138 at-bats. He also tied for fifth in the conference with seven home runs while appearing in all but four games this season. A thumb injury sidelined the sophomore for the conference tournament, but his strong campaign earned him his first career All-Conference recognition.

Joining Dickson on the Second Team was sophomore pitcher Troy Misiura, who developed into one of the top strikeout arms in the conference this season.

After settling into the rotation, Misiura finished tied for second in the AMCC with 66 strikeouts, alongside Hilbert's Andrew Johnson and behind only Pitcher of the Year Colin Bolla. The sophomore posted a 4-2 record with a 5.95 ERA and delivered two complete-game performances during conference play.

His first came against Alfred State on March 22, when he threw seven innings and struck out a career-high 12 batters. Later in the season, Misiura delivered one of the biggest performances of the year for the Mounties, tossing a complete-game shutout against Pitt.-Bradford on May 2. In the must-win contest for Mount Aloysius' playoff hopes, he scattered six hits while striking out eight over nine innings.

Rounding out the Mounties' All-Conference selections was junior first baseman Anthony Maseto, who earned Third Team honors after becoming one of the conference's toughest outs at the plate.

Entering the AMCC Tournament, Maseto led the conference in hits before ultimately finishing third overall with 60. He also posted a .395 batting average, tied for seventh best in the AMCC. While not known for power production this season, Maseto consistently produced quality at-bats, totaling seven doubles and one home run while drawing 23 walks, tied for third most in the conference. He struck out just 13 times all season.

Maseto's breakout year marked a major shift from his first two collegiate seasons, where he primarily contributed on the mound. Over his first two years, he recorded just 13 at-bats while throwing 62.1 innings as a pitcher. This season, however, he became a staple in the Mounties' lineup and appeared only once on the mound during the AMCC Tournament against Penn State Behrend.

The four played a major role in helping the Mounties remain in conference playoff contention throughout the season. The Mounties only graduate five seniors, so the future looks bright for Head Coach Patrick Gully who just finished his first year at the helm with a record of 15-26 and a playoff win over Alfred State, who went on a run to the AMCC Championship game.
