WESTMINSTER, Md. — The Mount Aloysius College women's volleyball team continued its strong start to the 2026 season on Saturday, sweeping the McDaniel Invitational with a pair of victories at the Gill Center. The Mounties opened the day with a 3-0 sweep of Goucher before completing the invitational with a 3-1 victory over host McDaniel. With the two wins, Mount Aloysius extended its winning streak to four consecutive matches.

Mount Aloysius opened Saturday's action with a dominant performance against Goucher, earning a 26-24, 25-17, 25-16 victory. The Mounties battled through a close opening set before taking control of the match, winning the final two sets by eight and nine points, respectively.

The offense was led by Mackenzie Barr (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler) who recorded a team-high 13 kills, while Loren Stipanovich (Cresson, Pa, Penn Cambria) added nine kills with a .389 hitting percentage. Kiersten Cummings (Las Vegas, Nev, Nevada State) helped direct the Mounties' attack with 12 assists, while Reghyn Wilson (Harrisburg, Pa., Bishop McDevitt) added 17 assists. Madison Barr led the defensive effort with 14 digs.

Following the sweep of Goucher, the Mounties returned to the court against McDaniel and delivered another strong performance. Mount Aloysius took the first set 25-23 before McDaniel answered with a 25-13 victory in the second. The Mounties responded by winning the third set 25-20 and closed out the match with a 25-21 fourth-set victory.

Barr once again paced the Mount Aloysius offense against McDaniel, finishing with 16 kills and a .500 hitting percentage. She also added 18 points, two block assists and four digs. Cummings contributed 16 assists and five service aces, while Madison Barr (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler) recorded 22 digs and three service aces.

As a team, Mount Aloysius recorded 39 kills, 31 assists, 12 service aces and 65 digs in the four-set victory. The Mounties also showed their ability to respond to adversity, bouncing back after dropping the second set to win the final two sets and secure the invitational sweep.
The successful weekend moves Mount Aloysius to 5-3 overall and gives the Mounties momentum heading into their next stretch of the season. After winning four straight matches, the Mounties will look to carry that momentum forward as they continue the 2026 campaign against Waynesburg on the road Tuesday at 7:00PM. The mounties are 8-3 against Waynesburg all time with their last meeting ending in a win a season ago.
