CRESSON, Pa. - The Mount Aloysius College men's soccer team picked up its first victory of the 2026 season in emphatic fashion Tuesday evening, cruising past Penn State Beaver, 8-1, at Kelly Field.
The Mounties (1-0-2) fell behind early from an own goal, but quickly responded with seven unanswered goals to turn the contest into a rout. Leading the offensive charge was senior Gonzalo Terricabris (Catalonia, Spain, Garbi Pere Verges), who delivered a career-high four-goal performance while tying the Mount Aloysius program record for goals in a single game.
Terricabris found the back of the net four times, scoring in the 16th, 28th, 60th and 65th minutes. His first two goals came less than 13 minutes apart, both assisted by Zack Marshfield (Stroud, England, Stroud High Sixth Form) and Rasmus Andersson (Orebro, Sweden, Virginska Gymnasiet), as the Mounties erased Penn State Beaver's early advantage.
The four-goal performance puts Terricabris alongside former Mountie and current assistant coach Juan Camacho, who scored four goals on Aug. 30, 2024, in a 4-3 victory over Fredonia.
Terricabris also continued his climb up the Mount Aloysius record book. With his four-goal outburst, he moved into a tie for fourth place all-time in program history with 28 career goals, matching current Mountie assistant coach Louis Bez.
After Penn State Beaver opened the scoring in the eighth minute, Terricabris answered in the 16th minute to even the match. He struck again in the 28th minute to give the Mounties a 2-1 advantage heading into halftime.
Mount Aloysius continued to pour it on after the break, with junior captain Cole Taylor (Bedford, PA, Bedford HS / St Francis University) extending the lead just 48 seconds into the second half off an assist from Pelayo Martin (Ciudad Real, Spain, IES Santa María de Alarcos).
Terricabris then completed his historic night with two more goals, the first assisted by both David Tiscar Tortajada (Javea, Spain, Open Learning School) and Martin, and the second by Axel Qvarnstroem (Uppsala, Sweden, Katedralskolan ).
The Mounties added three more goals in the final 16 minutes. Ethan Daley (Chislehurst, England, Farringtons School) found the net in the 75th minute for his first collegiate goal off a feed from Harry Ecobichon (St. Helier, Jersey, Hautlieu), before Ecobichon scored his first collegiate goal in the 79th minute with an assist from Kien Van Nguyen (Hakadal, Norway, Bjertnes Vidregaende Skole). Jeronimo Camacho (Ibague, Colombia, Colegio San Bonifacio De Las Lanzas) capped the scoring with his first goal as a Mountie with a goal in the final minute, assisted by Ethan Ritchey (Bedford, Pa., Bedford).
The eight goals marked a dominant offensive showing for the Mounties, who have now opened the season unbeaten through three matches at 1-0-2.
Mount Aloysius will have little time to celebrate, as the Mounties return to Kelly Field Wednesday night to host Juniata College at 7 p.m.
Wednesday's contest will serve as the Mounties' Student Activities Game, with free ice cream available for fans, a scarf giveaway and a halftime contest. The winner of the halftime contest will earn a pizza party for their entire residence floor.
The Mounties enter Wednesday's matchup with a 5-2-1 all-time record against the Golden Eagles, but Juniata earned a 3-1 victory in the teams' most recent meeting last season. Mount Aloysius will look to keep its momentum rolling and avenge last year's result when the two sides meet under the lights tomorrow night Kelly Field.
