CRESSON, Pa. - Mount Aloysius College women's volleyball senior Madison Barr (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler) reached a major career milestone this past weekend and was rewarded with AMCC Defensive Player of the Week honors, the conference announced Tuesday.
Barr eclipsed 1,000 career digs during the Mounties' match against Randolph at the North Carolina Wesleyan Invitational, becoming the latest Mountie to reach the impressive career mark.
The defensive standout put together a tremendous weekend, recording 104 digs across five matches while averaging 5.47 digs per set. Barr also contributed 19 assists and five service aces as Mount Aloysius finished the week with a 2-3 record.
The Mounties went 2-2 at the North Carolina Wesleyan Invitational, earning a third-place finish in the tournament.
Barr's 1,000th career dig highlights an impressive start to her 2026 campaign and adds another accomplishment to her Mountie career.
The Mounties will look to carry its momentum into Wednesday's home matchup against Lycoming College (1-3). The Mounties will host the Warriors at 6 p.m. inside the ACWC as part of the "I Can Volleyball Classic," sponsored by Sideline Cancer.
