Guillermo 'Will' Cabrera enters his fourth year at Mount Aloysius in 2020-21. He was tabbed as the Head Men's Basketball Coach in August 2017.

In 2019-20, Cabrera led the Mounties to their third-straight AMCC Tournament appearance, earning the 6th seed. They finished with a 14-11 regular season record, prior to falling in the first round of the AMCC Tournament. The Mounties ranked in the top 30 nationally, in Scoring Defense, for the second consecutive year, holding their opponents to 65.8 ppg.

Over his first two seasons in Cresson, Cabrera compiled a total of 21 wins, doubling the win total from each previous season. The Men's program has reached the AMCC Tournament in both seasons, while also reaching the final weekend in 2018-19. 2018-19 marked the program's first appearance in the conference semifinals.

Cabrera led the Mounties to new heights in 2018-19 with their first winning season since 2012-13, and the first home playoff game in program history. The team also ranked in the top 30 nationally in two statistical categories, Field Goal Percentage Defense and Scoring Defense. He also mentored two members of the AMCC All-Conference team, including the Newcomer of the Year, Carlos Palacio.

In his first season at Mount Aloysius, Cabrera led the Mounties to the AMCC playoffs, the first time the program reached postseason play since 2012-2013. The Mounties doubled their win total from a year prior as Mount Aloysius had one of the AMCC's top defenses. Mount Aloysius ranked third in the conference allowing just 70.4 points per game for the season.

Prior to arriving at Mount Aloysius, Cabrera was assistant men’s basketball coach and recruiting coordinator at Lebanon Valley College. His coaching and recruiting efforts helped the Dutchmen earn an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament berth in 2015-2016. Cabrera has served past roles as Head Basketball Coach at Impact Preparatory and Hershey Christian and has also been an assistant coach at both Mansfield University and Messiah College.2829

A native of Bolivia, Coach Cabrera spent several summers helping coach the Bolivian Men’s National Basketball Team.

Looking forward to the arrival on campus of the new men’s basketball coach, Athletic Director Ryan Smith reflected the anticipation of the entire Mount Aloysius College campus, "Coach Will Cabrera will bring fresh ideas and enthusiastic energy to the Mountie’s basketball program. He will continue to encourage our student-athletes to live the Mercy values and to apply as much effort in the classroom and for the good of their community as they no doubt will on the court. We are proud to welcome Guillermo Cabrera to Mount Aloysius College.”

Coach Cabrera resides in Hershey, PA, with his daughter Alexis, 11.
