Taylor Curtis was named an assistant men's soccer coach at Mount Aloysius in June 2018.
In his first season on the sidelines in the Fall of 2018, Curtis helped the Mounties to a 15-4-1 overall record and their second most wins in program history. The Mounties advanced to the AMCC Playoffs and AMCC Semifinals during the 2018 campaign, and a record nine Mounties earned AMCC All-Conference honors.
Curtis arrived at Mount Aloysius after having served as a club coach and youth coach in 2017. He served as the head coach for two club teams as part of the Highland Park Soccer Academy in Dallas, TX. Curtis coached at The Episcopal School of Dallas last Fall and also has coaching experience as a camp assistant at the SMU and Louisville soccer camps.
The Dallas, TX native played NCAA Division I soccer at both the University of Louisville and Southern Methodist University (SMU). Curtis played in 34 career games for SMU as a defender over the final two years of his career. At Louisville, he started 17 matches on the backline in his freshman season that resulted in a trip to the NCAA Tournament Second Round. The team also set program records for consecutive minutes played without allowing a goal (560) and consecutive shutouts (5). He graduated from SMU in August 2017 with a degree in Applied Physiology and Sports Management.
Curtis interned with the NFL's Houston Texans over the course of the summers of 2016 and 2017 as a Football Operations Intern. He assisted the Director of Football Operations during the 2016 and 2017 training camps, helped manage game day operations and equipment and ran practice footage.
Curtis played his high school soccer at The Episcopal School of Dallas, where he scored 15 goals and posted 10 assists while earning Offensive Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player honors as a senior. He also earned All-Southwest Preparatory Conference honors once, and was a three-time All-North Zone First Team selection.
