Ben Guiliano was hired as the first Men’s Volleyball Coach in school history, in December 2020.
“We feel that Coach Guiliano is a home run hire,” said Athletic Director, Kevin Kime. “He is a veteran coach that has tons of experience and a very successful track record when it comes to constructing a new program.”
Guiliano arrived in Cresson, via Keuka College, where he served as the Head Men's Volleyball Coach until the spring of 2020. He oversaw the beginning of the Men's Volleyball program in 2013 and served as it's inagural head coach. He also served as the Head Women's Volleyball Coach at Keuka from 2011 to 2016. During his time at Keuka, he won over 170 combined games and coached 34 NEAC All-Conference players, between both programs. He also mentored 68 NEAC Scholar-Athletes, three NEAC Defensive Players of the Year (1 WVB, 2 MVB), a Men's Volleyball Rookie of the Year, and a Men's Volleyball Player of the Year.
Prior to Keuka, Guiliano served as the Head Coach for Men's Volleyball and Women's Volleyball programs, at Pfeiffer University, in North Carolina. While at Pfeiffer, he also taught multiple classes and was the Director of the Pfeiffer University Fitness Center. He arrived at Pfeiffer after a short stint as an assistant Women's Volleyball Coach at High Point University.
He spent 2000-05 at Greensboro College, where he served, first as the Head Softball Coach, and later as the Director of the Royce Reynolds Fitness Center and the Supervisor of Athletic Operations. Before Greensboro, he made stops at Creighton University, Genesee Community College, Notre Dame High School, Page High School, Rochester Institute of Technology, and Saint Andrews College. Most notably, he was responsible for re-starting the Women's Volleyball program at NCAA Division I, Creighton, from 1994-97.
In 2012, Guiliano was inducted into the Genesee Community College Athletics Hall of Fame. He served as the Head Coach of Women's Volleyball (1979-88), Softball (1980-88), and Men's Volleyball (1986-88).
Guiliano holds a Master of Science degree in Physical Education from SUNY Brockport and Bachelor of Arts in Communications Media from SUNY Geneseo. He also spent a brief time as a student at Genesee Community College.
