Sam Hopp was named Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach for Mount Aloysius on February 6th, 2023.
Originally from Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Hopp previously held the role of assistant coach for men's and women’s tennis at Lakeland University from August 2021 until January 2023. Hopp helped both programs to NACC Tournament appearances, the first for the women in nine years.
Acting as Head Tennis Coach for the boy’s and girl’s teams at Sheboygan North High School from August 2020 to January 2023, Hopp coached players to individual state tournament appearances in every season with the program, including a 5-seed boy’s doubles team in 2021.
Hopp also worked closely with the Sheboygan Recreation Department while in the city, developing tennis programming such as 8-week junior programs, adult drill sessions, a week-long high school tennis camp, and individual lessons. He previously held assistant coaching roles at both Edgerton High School and Milton High School.
Hopp received his MBA from Lakeland University in December 2022, with an emphasis on Managing Sports Programs. He received his BBA in Sports Management from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in May 2021. Hopp also serves as Assistant Sports Information Director in addition to his coaching duties.
