Pittsburgh, PA - The Mount Aloysius women's tennis team was eliminated from the AMCC playoffs by #3 seed La Roche College by a final score of 5-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Oxford Athletic Club.
Mount Aloysius was very competitive at #1 and #2 doubles play, with the duos of
Emily Goldyn and
Joselyn Walters as well as
Ericka Klavuhn and
Katelynn Arnold both being edged by final margins of 8-6. After falling behind 3-0 in doubles play, the Mounties scored their lone win at the #1 singles spot as Goldyn won 6-4, 4-6, 6-1. However, the Redhawks notched two more single victories to clinch the match and advance to the semifinals.Â
The Mounties conclude their fall season with an overall record of 6-6 under Head Coach
Mike Hample.
