Steubenville, OH- The Mount Aloysius Men's Soccer team fell for the first time in 13 matches as they lost to Franciscan University 3-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Mounties were held scoreless, but worked hard to give themselves opportunities at goal as they were able to record 20 shots on goal, but only put 4 on target.
Joshua Devlin and
Erik Johansson led the team with 4 shots, and
Ludvig Hegdal and
Joshua Christie collected 3 shots each.
Junior Goalkeeper
James Eyre made 4 saves in the first half, and
Allister Noronha made 1 save and allowed 2 goals in the second half of play.
Despite the loss, the Mounties (13-2-1, 7-1) still control their own destiny in the final conference standings. They will take on Penn State Behrend on Saturday in the AMCC Game of the Week. The winner of the game will clinch the top spot int he conference standings.Â
