Cresson, PA- The Mount Aloysius Men's Soccer team lost their 2nd consecutive game on Saturday, falling to Penn State Behrend by a final score of 1-0.
The Mounties struggled to keep possession throughout the first half, but came on strong down the stretch while recording four shots and two corner kick opportunities in the final 15 minutes of the game.
Joshua Devlin led the way with 3 shots while midfielders
James Maddison and
Jonathan Fernandez also registered shots on goal.
James Eyre put in a gutsy performance finishing with 10 saves in the game, including many in 1 on 1 opportunities. The lone goal was scored by the Lions just over six minutes into the game as a Behrend attacker got between Eyre and defender
Pete Smerecky before knocking the ball in the back of the net.
The loss moves the Mounties to 13-3-1 on the year with a 7-2 record in conference play. While seeds have not been officially set, the Mounties will likely be the #3 seed in the AMCC Tournament. They will play a non-conference match at home against Juniata College on Tuesday, starting at 7 PM.Â
