Cresson, PA- The Mount Aloysius Volleyball team lost to Lycoming College on Thursday night in their final home action of the regular season.
Before the start of the action, Mount Aloysius took time to recognize three graduating players and their team manager. Seniors
Sarah Fisher and
Jessica Bressler as well as Nursing graduate
Hannah Cotchen and senior team manager Seth Bearer were all recognized for their contributions to their program. This season they have led the Mounties to one of their best seasons in program history. Their season has included a 11 game winning streak and has seen them clinch the second seed in the AMCC Conference Tournament.
In the game, the Mounties were able to take game 1 in dominating fashion, however they were unable to keep momentum as they lost the following three games in close fashion. Fisher led the Mounties offensively as she recorded 16 kills in the match.
Jessica Bressler led the Mounties in assists with 22, with her second to last assist putting her over 1,00 for her career. Kulee Clawson led the Mountie defense with 19 digs, while Machala Gibbbons chipped in 16.
The Mounties record is currently 16-10, with an 7-1 record in AMCC play. They will close their regular season on Saturday when they travel to Medaille. The Mounties have already clinched the second seed in the AMCC tournament and will receive a bye into the semi-final round.
