Pittsburgh, PA- The Mount Aloysius Volleyball team won their 7th consecutive game on Wednesday, as they defeated Chatham 3 sets to 1.
The Mounties took the first two sets 25-15 and 25-22, and after a disappointing third set, took the 4th 25-17. The Mounties struggled offensively finishing with only a .150 hitting percentage, which was bolstered by an efficient 4th set performance in which they converted 14 of 36 attacks. They were able to dominate from the service line, gathering 17 aces.Â
Machala Gibbons led the Mounties offensively, finishing with 11 kills on 37 attacks. She also chipped in 16 digs. Freshman
Ashlee Parrish put in a strong performance as she also finished with double digit kills. She had 10 kills on 21 attacks, as well as 4 service aces. Fellow Freshman
Hannah Atzeni put in a strong performance as she collected 8 assists, 7 digs and an astounding 9 service aces.
Jessica Bressler finished with 19 assists and Libero
Kylee Clawson collected 21 digs.
The Mounties (12-8, 5-0) will have a break as the have a week before their next match. Their next action will be on Wednesday October 10th as they travel to AMCC for Franciscan University.Â
