Devlin Hat Trick Leads Mounties to 6-0 Victory

Greensburg, PA - Junior Attacker Joshua Devlin netted a first half hat trick to lead the Mounties to a 6-0 victory over Pitt-Greensburg on Tuesday. Devlin also added two assists in the game. His 8-point performance moved him into a tie for the conference lead in points.

The Mountie scoring started 10 minutes into the match. Devlin whipped a cross into the box that found freshman Ludvig Hegdal, who calmly finished the cross to give the Mounties the 1-0 lead. The goal was Hegdal's 4th of the season, 3 of which have been game winning goals. Less than a minute later, Devlin set up winger Pau Aran with a through ball behind the defense. Aran collected the ball and beat the keeper to the far post to double the Mountie advantage.

After assisting the first two goals, Devlin would finish the next three on his own. In the 15th minute, Devlin made a run to the back post and was able to put away a cross from Jonathan Fernandez. Josh doubled his tally 3 minutes later as he scored a second on a one time finish off a pass from Hegdal. His final goal came via a free kick, which he was able to curl over the wall and into the corner. The three goals give Devlin 8 on the season to go along with his 7 assists.

Connor Pielmeier finished off the Mountie scoring with just more than a minute remaining in the half. He beat the keeper in a one on one situation and calmly tucked away his first goal in a Mountie uniform. James Eyre made 3 saves in route to picking up his 10th win and 7th shutout of the season. Eyre leads the AMCC in nearly every statistical category highlighted by his .60 goals against average, and .821 save percentage. His wins and shutouts also lead the conference.

The Mounties (12-1-1, 6-0-0) have won 12 straight contests. On the winning streak they have scored 50 goals while only allowing 3. 36 of those goals have come in AMCC play. They will travel to Buffalo this weekend to take on D'Youville College in what the AMCC has tabbed its Conference Game of the Week.
