Bethany, WV - The Mount Aloysius Women;s Basketball team lost their season opening game at Bethany on Tuesday night. The Mounties struggled from the field as they lost by a final score of 69-37.
The Mounties fell behind early as they shot only 13% from the field while the Bisons shot over 50%. Despite struggling through the first three quarters, the Mounties were able to catch up in the final period as they outscored Bethany 17-11 to close the game.
Breana Kendrick led the Mounties with 10 points while making 6 of 6 from the free throw line.
Caroline Showalter chipped in 6 points on two made threes while also collecting 6 rebounds.
Machala Gibbons also scored 6 points and tallied 4 steals on the defensive end.
The Mounties (0-1) next action will be this weekend when they travel to Frostburg, Maryland to play in the Jim Crawley Classic They will take on Christopher Newport on Saturday at 6:00 PM and the hosts, Frostburg State on Sunday at 3:00 PM
