Cresson,PA- Despite falling behind 2 sets to 1, the Mount Aloysius Volleyball team was able to dominate the last two sets of Thursdays match to pick up a 3-2 victory.
The Mounties started off the match strong. They won the first set of the match 25-21. they picked up 22 kills in the set hitting an efficient .391. After winning the first set, they seemed to hit a wall as Shenandoah came back to win sets two and three with ease.Â
Mount Aloysius looked like a different team in sets 4 and 5 winning both with ease. They win set 4 25-15, and converted at a .433 rate in the set. Their dominance and efficiency continued into the tie-breaking set as they easily won 15-6. In the last set the Mounties did not commit a hitting error and converted at a 50% rate.Â
Machala Gibbons led the Mounties with 17 kills, while also chipping in defensively with 22 digs.
Sarah Fisher recorded 13 kills and
Macy King chipped in a season high of 12 kills. King And Fisher also recorded 6 blocks a piece.
Jessica Bressler recorded 30 assists in the match while
Emma Pevarnik added 19 of her own.
Kylee Clawson also recorded a season high as she tallied 33 digs in the match.Â
The Mounties (6-8) will kick off their AMCC season on Saturday as they travel to Pitt-Bradford for a conference quad match. they will take on HIlbert at 1:00 PM and then take on the hosts at 3:30.
