Pittsburgh, PA,- The Mount Aloysius Volleyball team came back from a 2 set 1 one deficit to pick up their third straight conference win over LaRoche College on Wednesday. The match selected as the AMCC Game of the Week, lived up to its pre-match billing as 4 of the 5 games finished in close fashion.
After splitting the first two sets 25-20 and 20-25, the Mounties lost a close third set 23-25, putting them in danger of losing the match. The Mounties came back strong to start set 4, winning 6 of the first 7 points. They didn't look back after their hot start, as they grew their lead throughout the set, winning 25-16. The deciding 5th set was a back and forth battle, as neither team was able to muster more than a two point lead. The Mounties were able to take the lead for good at 9-8Â and after a LaRoche error, were able to swap side outs until they reached the 15-13 final.
Middle hitter
Sarah Fisher tied her season high for kills in a match with 21. She reached those 21 kills in only 34 attacks, good for a .588 hitting percentage.
Machala Gibbons also reached double digit kills, finishing the game with 13 kills along with 18 digs defensively.
Emma Pevarnik led the Mounties in assists, finishing with 30, while JEssica Bressler was able to collect 23 of her own. Collectively, the Mounties had a strong game defensively, as 5 different players registered double digit digs. Libero

The Mounties (9-8, 3-0) will return home with a 4 game win streak. They will host D'Youville College on Saturday at 1:00 PM in the ACWC.
