Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Mounties Suffocate Bison, 4-1

Bethany, WV -- The Mount Aloysius Men's Soccer traveled to Bethany, WV on Wednesday afternoon to take on the Bison. After a dominating performance, they returned home with a 4-1 victory.

The Mounties were able to score two goals in each half, while outshooting the Bison, 26-6 for the game. Only three Bethany shots landed on target. 18 of the Mounties' shots were on goal.

The first half scoring was started in the 26th minute by Linus Westberg (Malmo, Sweden, Sundsgymnasiet). Westberg's goal was his 5th of the season, to put the Mounties ahead 1-0.

In the 39th minute, James Maddison (Trimdon, England, Moulton College), took a shot that was saved by Bethany goalkeeper, Torben Grether. The save started a string of events that ended with Maddison finding Anton Hoshovsky (Canberra, Australia, Radford College) on the left side, for an easy goal. Hoshovsky's goal gave the Mounties a 2-0 halftime lead.

The third goal from Mount Aloysius came from Joshua Devlin (Southend-on-Sea, England, Seevic College). Joshua Christie (Aberdeen, Scotland, Hazlehead Academy) took a shot that was saved by Grether, but the shot ricocheted to Devlin, who was able to put the result in the back of the net. The goal moved Devlin into a tie for second in the AMCC, in goals scored with 10.

Bethany's Tony Cirri got the Bison on the board in the 65th minute, with a goal, assisted by Anthony Bradden. The Bison were unable to attempt a shot in the final 25 minutes.

Tevin Beadle (Kingston, Jamaica, St. George's College) took a pass from Pau Aran (Barcelona, Spain, Colegio Inglés Playa del Carmen) to score the final goal on the day for the Mounties. Beadle's goal was his first of the season and also gave Aran his, team leading, 5th assist. Nick Anagnostiadis (Sydney, Australia, St. Patrick's College) also has a team-high five assists.

Mount Aloysius improved to 9-4 on the season, with the win. They have also won five consecutive games, which includes three AMCC victories. They will get back on the road this weekend, as they travel to D'Youville, as they return to AMCC play against the Spartans, at 2:00 PM.
