Erie -- The Mount Aloysius Volleyball team traveled to Erie, Pa. on Saturday to take on Penn State Behrend. They had a rough day, before falling in three sets.
Mount Aloysius committed 18 hitting errors and hit a five-game low, .124, in the loss. They had a hitting percentage of .116 in their loss to Penn State Altoona, 18 days ago. Penn State Behrend hit .254 for the game.
Both teams got off to a slow start, committing a combined, 13 hitting errors, in the first set. Behrend got the lead at 9-8 and would not relinquish it. While the Mounties made a few attempts, they could only get the score back to within one point. They got it back to 21-20, before losing the final four points to fall, 25-20.
The second set looked eerily similar to the first, as Behrend got a lead early and held on, even with several attempts by Mount Aloysius. The Mounties committed nine errors in the set, while the Lions hit .31 and only committed three hitting errors. PSB took set number two, 25-18.
In the final set, the Lions got out to an 8-1 advantage. The Mounties clawed their way back, but were unable to get the game closer than two points. They fell in set three, 25-21. Both teams hit above .330 in the set, but it was not enough for Mount Aloysius.

Machala Gibbons (Cairnbrook, PA, Bishop McCort) had a strong game with a 19 dig, 12 kill, double-double. She was helped defensively byÂ
Kylee Clawson (Altoona, PA, Altoona) who finished with 13 digs. SeniorÂ
Emma Pevarnik (Greensburg, PA, Hempfield) had her fourth consecutive game with 30 or more assists, as she finished with an even 30.
The Mounties will return to action on Wednesday, when they travel Eastern Mennonite University, to take on the Royals, and Bridgewater College. They will finish the regular season on Saturday, when they host Medaille, on Senior Day.
AMCC Tournament seeds have yet to be determined. However, Mount Aloysius has clinched a postseason berth and will be either the two, three, or four seed. Following the results from Wednesday's AMCC matchups, more information will be provided.
