Buffalo, NY -- The Mount Aloysius Volleyball team won their fifth straight game on Saturday, as they beat D'Youville, 3-0.
The Mounties produced a balanced attack all day, as they hit .301 for the day.Â
Ashlee Parrish (Northern Cambria, PA, Northern Cambria) was the only Mountie to reach double digits in kills, with 11. Parrish hit an astonishing .400 on the day.
Machala Gibbons (Cairnbrook, PA, Bishop McCort),
Macy King (New Bethlehem, PA, Redbank Valley), andÂ
Ava Myers (Gallitzin, PA, Bishop Carroll) picked up 25 of the teams 40 kills, while only committing two total errors between them. Gibbons hit .300, while King and Myers hit .500 and .583, respectively.
Emma Pevarnik (Greensburg, PA, Hempfield) led the Mounties with 32 assists on the afternoon.Â
Kylee Clawson (Altoona, PA, Altoona) led the defense with 12 digs.
Mount Aloysius left little doubt on the day, who would come out on top. They got out to leads in the first and third sets, to win easily by 12 points in set one and 11 points in set three.
The Spartans gave the Mounties all they could handle in the second set, as they held a 17-10 lead. Mount Aloysius was able to go on a 15-4 run to close out take the lead and the set. D'Youville was unable to pose much of a threat, outside of the middle set.
With the win on Saturday, the Mounties improved to 4-0 in AMCC play and 13-5 overall. They are currently on a five game win streak. It is their second five game win streak of the season. They return to play on Tuesday night, when they travel to play rival, Penn State Altoona.Â
