LANCASTER, PA -- The Mount Aloysius Women's Basketball team traveled to Lancaster Bible on Saturday afternoon, to take on the Chargers. They were able to pick up their first win of the season, 56-45.

Hannah Kitko (Houtzdale, PA, Moshannon Valley) each scored career-highs of 14 points. It was only their third collegiate game together.

Machala Gibbons (Cairnbrook, PA, Bishop McCort) added four assists to lead the Mounties in that category.
- Caitlin Hickey lead LBC with 22 points, while Adalyn Steiner picked up a game-high nine rebounds.

- Mount Aloysius struggled to score during the first quarter, as they were only able to register two baskets, a

Ryanna Hockenos (Ashville, PA, Penn Cambria) jumper.
- The Chargers would extend their lead to eight (18-10) with 7:36 to go in the second quarter. The Mounties would go on a 16-0 run to finish the half.

Zoé Harding (Garrett, PA, Berlin-Brothersvalley) contributed 12 of the 16 Mountie points. Kitko hit two threes and Harding added one.
- The Mounties would extend their lead to 11 in the third quarter. All five baskets scored in the third quarter were by a different player for Mount Aloysius.
- A Sammarco three pointer would make the lead 21 for the Mounties, with just under five minutes remaining. LBC would make a run to cut the game to eight, twice, but were unable to overcome the large deficit.
Inside the Box Score
- The Mounties showed a stifling defense that limited the Chargers to 24.6% shooting for the game.
- LBC's Lizzy Tilton came into the game averaging 14.3 ppg and was held scoreless.
- Mount Aloysius also committed a season-low 14 turnovers. They also forced 17 Charger turnovers.
Coming Up
- The Mounties hit the road again, on Monday, when they head West to Pittsburgh, to take on Chatham. The game will start at 7:00 PM. It will be the final non-conference game of the season for Mount Aloysius.
- After Thanksgiving break, the Mounties will return home to host the Franciscan Barons in the AMCCÂ opener for the Mounties. Franciscan starts AMCC play on Tuesday night, at Pitt-Greensburg.
