RADNOR, PA -- On the second day of the Cavalier Clash, hosted by Cabrini University, the Mount Aloysius Volleyball team was defeated by Swarthmore in three sets.
In their final game of the tournament, the Mounties started sluggish and never truly rebounded. After losing set one, 25-12, each set became closer, but never quite enough. They went on to lose set two, 25-15, and the third set, 25-20.
They were led again byÂ
Machala Gibbons (Cairnbrook, PA, Bishop McCort) in kills, with 6.Â
Emma Pevarnik (Greensburg, PA, Hempfield) added to her career total in assists with 19 to lead Mount Aloysius.
The Mounties wrapped up their first weekend of the year with a 1-2 record. They will look to bounce back when they go on the road to Lycoming on Wednesday night. It will be the 12th consecutive year that Mount Aloysius has taken on Lycoming, since becoming full-fledged members of the NCAA. They are looking for their first win against the Warriors in that time frame, as well. Last year's meeting was a 3-1 win for Lycoming. After dropping the first set, they won the final three, all three being decided by two or three points.
