WILLIAMSPORT -- The Mount Aloysius Volleyball team finished off their opening road stretch with a victory on Wednesday night, when they visited Lycoming. It was their first 3-0 sweep of the year.

Emma Pevarnik (Greensburg, PA, Hempfield) had a strong showing as she recorded a game high 30 assists to go along with a .571 hitting percentage on the night. She was one of seven different Mounties to register a kill on the night, as well.
Mount Aloysius stayed consistent on the night, as a whole. They started the night with a four point run in the first set, to take an early 4-1 lead. They didn't score more than three points in a row again, until the third and final set, where they went on an early five point streak, to take a 7-3 lead in the set.
The consistency on the floor also showed in the box score. The Mounties hit over .300 in both the first and third sets, including a .355 hitting percentage in the first. They had five players that all had double digit attempts.

Machala Gibbons (Cairnbrook, PA, Bishop McCort) contributed 13 kills and eight digs. LiberoÂ
Kylee Clawson (Altoona, PA, Altoona) added 20 digs, as the only Mountie to reach double digit digs.
The win, snapped a 12 game losing streak against Lycoming. The last Mount Aloysius victory over Lycoming, came back in 2007, prior to the Mounties being full members of the AMCC and NCAA.
Mount Aloysius will return home on Friday night, for their home opener against Waynesburg University. The match is slated to start at 7 PM. The game is also set to be Kid's Night.
