CRESSON -- The Mount Aloysius Volleyball team continued their string of good play tonight, as they beat Chatham in straight sets.
With the 3-0 victory, the Mounties push their win streak to three games, nine straight sets.
The Mounties pulled away towards the end of set one, to give themselves a 25-18 victory in the set. The second set found the Mounties dismantling their opponent, 25-9. In the middle of the set, JuniorÂ
Machala Gibbons (Cairnbrook, PA, Bishop McCort) served for nine consecutive points, which included one service ace.
The third set went much like the first, as it saw the Mounties win the set in the end, 25-19.
It was a balanced attack for Mount Aloysius that saw both Gibbons and SophomoreÂ
Ashlee Parrish (Northern Cambria, PA, Northern Cambria) register 12 kills. Gibbons finished the game with a double-double, as she also picked up 15 digs. Parrish hit an astonishing .375 for the game.
JuniorÂ
Kylee Clawson (Altoona, PA, Altoona)Â added 24 digs, while SeniorÂ
Emma Pevarnik (Greensburg, PA, Hempfield)Â registered a game-high 32 assists.
The Mountie middle-hitters were also strong on the defensive end, as JuniorsÂ
Macy King (New Bethlehem, PA, Redbank Valley) andÂ
Ava Myers (Gallitzin, PA, Bishop Carroll)Â picked up, four and three blocks, respectively. Pevarnik also chipped in a block assist, with King.
The team will look to add to their win streak on Thursday night, when they will host Saint Vincent College at 7:00 PM in the Athletic, Convocation and Wellness Center. The Bearcats come in at 5-4 on the season.
