CRESSON -- The Mount Aloysius Volleyball team traveled to Elizabethtown on Saturday, where they went 1-1 in their two games.
The Mounties took on Clarks Summit and host, Elizabethtown, in a tri-match. In game one, the Mounties defeated Clarks Summit 3-0, while they lost game two to E-Town, 3-0.

Emma Pevarnik (Greensburg, PA, Hempfield) led the Mounties in game one, with 36 assists. She set up a Mountie offense that hit .270 on the game. JuniorsÂ
Machala Gibbons (Cairnbrook, PA, Bishop McCort) andÂ
Ava Myers (Gallitzin, PA, Bishop Carroll) both had double digit kills, with 17 and 11, respectively.
The Mounties made a dominant showing against the Defenders, as they limited the defenders to less than 20 points in every set. In the first set, the Mounties used two runs of five and six points to take a 16-10 lead. The Defenders did not get within four points the rest of the set. In set number two, a 13-2 run gave the Mounties a commanding lead that they would not relinquish. In the final set, Clarks Summit had a 18-17 lead, before Mount Aloysius scored eight of the final nine points to end the game.
Game two looked much different for Mount Aloysius, as they took on E-Town. The Mounties struggled to a .066 hitting percentage and made 22 hitting errors over the three sets. Even with their struggles, the Mounties held strong in sets one and two, losing 25-21 and 25-23. The long day got to them in the final set where they fell to the Blue Jays 25-15.
Pevarnik turned in a double-double with 24 assists and 11 digs. JuniorÂ
Kylee Clawson (Altoona, PA, Altoona) picked up a team-leading 18 digs in game two, giving her 33 digs on the day. JuniorÂ
Carly Swope (Big Cove Tannery, PA, McConnellsburg) added 12 digs in game two. Offensively, Gibbons and Myers led the team in kills in the second game. Gibbons registered 14 and Myers added 10. Myers hit a spectacular .385 on the day.
The Mounties return to action, on Tuesday, when they travel to Hood College. The Blazers visited Cresson, last season, and lost to the Mounties 3-2.
